Heather Roy Heather Roy has been President of Social Platform since April 2013 www.socialplatform.org. As President she leads the network of 47 NGO’s with a social mission to promote policies from the European Union that are focused on justice, equality, human rights and inclusion. Since 2008 she has also been Secretary General of Eurodiaconia (the European Federation for Diaconia) www.eurodiaconia.org
She has extensive experience of NGO’s and Civil Society across Europe, including Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union and has also worked in global partnerships. Her focus on NGO’s has included the role NGO’s play in global democracy and citizenship, NGO’s as training ground for leadership and actors for social inclusion and her current work with Eurodiaconia is particularly focused on supporting not for profit providers of social and health care services.
