Registration

The conference is fully booked and registrations are closed. For last-minute enquiries, please contact Conference Manager Emma Ernsth on conferencemanager@eeb.org. Please clearly state your full name, job title, organisation and motivation to join the conference.

Language

The official language of the conference is English. Translation will not be provided.

The Conference will be hosted by SQUARE-BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE, located just a few minutes walk from the Brussels train and metro station ‘Gare Central’.

When you arrive to the station ‘Gare Central’, exit via the main entrance hall, the one facing the little square called Carrefour de l’Europe. You will see a big hotel in front of you called ‘Le Meridien’. Turn left on Rue Infante Isabelle and left again until Rue Infante Isabelle crosses Rue de la Chapelle. Continue straight ahead on Mont des Arts. After a few minutes you will see the big glass cube of the SQUARE-BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE on your right hand side.

On Monday 1 December, please use the “Glass” entrance on  Mont des Arts/Kunstberg, 1000 Brussels. Registrations will take place in front of the Silver foyer (inside the cube). On Tuesday 2 December, please use the “Ravenstein” entrance on 2 Rue Ravenstein, 1000 Brussels. Please find a map with explanations of the different entrances here.

 

Evening Reception 1 December – 12 Stars Award for environmental achievementsBIP House of the Capital Region

The 40th Anniversary reception that will follow immediately after the Conference on Monday 1 December will be hosted by BIP House of the Capital Region, Rue Royale 2-4, 1000 Brussels. BIP is located just a few minutes walk from SQUARE-BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE.

Annual General Meeting for EEB members 2-3 December 

The Annual General Meeting (for EEB members only) will be hosted by the Royal Flemish Theatre KVS, Rue de Laeken/Lakensestraat 146
, 1000 Brussels. The nearest metro stop is Yser/Ijzer, on line 2 and 6, direction Elisabeth, exit Rue de Laeken/Lakensestraat.

How to get from the airport to Brussels city centre and the conference venue

There are up to four trains an hour connecting the main airport Zaventem with the city centre. For more information, please visit the website of Brussels airport. If you are going straight to the conference, the best thing to do is to get off at the Brussels train and metro station ‘Gare Central’. The main conference venue SQUARE-BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE is located just a few minutes walk from ‘Gare Central’.

Accommodation

We have made reservations for EEB members at Motel 1, on Rue Royal 120, 1000 Brussels, located close to the main train station ‘Gare Central’. We also recommend this hotel for other international participants looking for accommodation. When you arrive to the station ‘Gare Central’, exit via the main entrance hall, the one facing the little square called Carrefour de l’Europe. You will see a big hotel in front of you called ‘Le Meridien’. Turn right on Putterie, then take the first street to the left (Cantersteen, later Rue des Colonies). Follow Rue des Colonies until it crosses Rue Royal, then take left to get to the hotel located on 120 Rue Royal.
